We are a group of Berliners of several generations, young and old, who organise politically together as part of the Interventionist Left and are active in the field of anti-fascism. The Interventionist Left is a network of non-dogmatic left-wing groups in Germany and Austria that also actively engages with many other issues, such as climate justice, feminism, health policy, or rent struggles.
As a Berlin-based anti-fascist working group, we have been working for many years on the issue of right-wing terror in Neukölln. We are apalled at the many years of nazi attacks and activities in Neukölln, their arson attacks and other methods with which they try to intimidate and silence anyone who is active against the right wing. But we are also shocked by the lack of investigation into these crimes; like the victims of the attacks, we have to wonder whether this is due to right-wing structures in the Berlin investigative authorities themselves.
We now want to address this issue beyond Berlin. It is particularly important for us to look at the historical continuities, because this is not the first time that nazis are involved in the German security authorities. We believe that it is high time to organise against this threat. We do this in solidarity with everyone who is specifically targeted by nazis, be they nazis in combat boots, in suits, or in uniform.
